History of Simply Hope

In June of 2004 the Simply Hope concept of Transitional housing took form in the way of a planning board. The concepts became more of a reality and we incorporated in January of 2005.

In February of 2007, the planning and funding merged together and we opened our first men's house quickly followed by our first women's house in July. In August the accountability, success, and adherence to the Simply Hope concept was rewarded by confidence from the Pinellas County Public Defenders Office and we became qualified housing for the Jail Diversion Program, members of the Pinellas Ex-Offender Reentry Coalition and co-chairs of the Coalition Housing Committee. With these inroads the need for more housing became evident and we opened our third house (men) in that same month which was quickly followed three months later with our fourth house (women).

In 2008, as a response to our growth, Simply Hope opened an office, developed an education program for GED and college classes which will be fully operational in 2010. We have also opened another male house and two more female houses. See photos.
